High up on snowy Mount Kailash lived Nandi, the gentlest bull in the whole world. Nandi loved wearing his shiny brass bell that tinkled softly as he walked. Most of all, he loved sitting near his best friend, Lord Shiva, keeping everything peaceful and calm.

One sunny morning, Lord Shiva sat down to meditate in deep silence. Nandi settled right beside him, staying as still as a smooth river stone. He made a quiet promise to sit with total focus so nothing would disturb his friend.

Suddenly, a little squirrel scampered up the mountain holding a tiny seed. She wanted to ask Lord Shiva for help, but saw he was meditating deeply. Nandi gave a warm, friendly smile and whispered, 'You can share your wish with me, little friend. I will listen carefully.'

The squirrel leaned close to Nandi's soft ear and whispered her secret wish. Nandi practiced wonderful patience, focusing on every single word without moving a muscle. He locked the sweet message safely inside his heart, ready to wait as long as needed.

When Lord Shiva finally opened his eyes, Nandi happily passed along the squirrel's wish. Shiva smiled with delight and granted it at once! He gently patted Nandi's head, praising him for his patient heart and quiet focus.

With patience and steady focus, we can be wonderful listeners and trusted friends.
