The short version

We collect no personal data. There are no ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no accounts. Nothing here asks your child who they are.

What actually happens when you read a story

To show you a story, your device requests files — pages, pictures and audio — from our servers at Cloudflare. Like any request on the web, that includes your IP address. We do not store it, associate it with you, or use it to build any profile. Cloudflare keeps short-lived operational logs, as every host does.

We do not claim to see nothing. We claim to keep nothing.

What stays on your device

Your chosen language and playback speed are saved in your browser so the app remembers them next visit. They never leave your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Children

Balakatha is made for children, so we hold it to the stricter rule: no data collection at all, rather than data collection with consent. There is no chat, no sharing, no user-generated content and no way for anyone to contact your child through this app.

In the mobile apps

The iOS and Android apps follow the same rules. Story packs that require a one-time purchase are handled by Apple or Google directly — we never see your payment details, and there is still no account to create. Anything that leaves the app sits behind a parental gate.
