Kartikeya and the Gentle Peacock

Young Kartikeya loved exploring the sunny meadows of Mount Kailash with his loving mother, Goddess Parvati. One afternoon, he heard a soft, sad rustle behind a blossom bush. Crouching down, Kartikeya found a shy peacock trembling with a thorn stuck in its foot. The poor bird looked scared, but Kartikeya gave it a warm, comforting smile.

"Do not worry, little friend, I will help you," whispered brave Kartikeya in a sweet, calm voice. With great care and a very soft touch, he removed the sharp thorn from the bird's foot. He gently stroked the peacock's soft, bright blue neck to soothe the pain. Feeling safe and loved, the peacock rested its head gently against Kartikeya’s shoulder.

The peacock felt so happy and relieved that its pain was completely gone! To show its deep gratitude, the bird slowly fanned out its grand, magical tail feathers. A vibrant rainbow of shimmering blues, emerald greens, and bright golds sparkled in the warm sun. Kartikeya clapped his little hands in pure delight at the wonderful sight.

The peacock bowed its shiny head, offering Kartikeya a ride upon its sturdy back. Kartikeya climbed up happily, holding on gently as his feather friend glided gracefully through the flower valleys. Goddess Parvati watched her kind son with a proud, glowing heart. She knew that true strength comes from being gentle and caring to all living creatures.

From that special day on, the peacock became Kartikeya's beloved companion and loyal mount, Mayura. Wherever the young prince went, his magnificent friend trotted proudly right beside him. Kartikeya learned that a simple act of loving kindness can create a friendship that shines forever. Together, they filled the mountains with joy and laughter.
