Ganesha and the Mango of Wisdom

High up on sunny Mount Kailash, young Ganesha and his brother Kartikeya were playing happily together. Suddenly, a magical golden mango appeared, sweet and glowing with divine knowledge. It was the prized Mango of Wisdom, and only one child could have it! Shiva and Parvati looked at their eager little boys with loving smiles.

"Whoever travels around the world three times fastest shall win this sweet fruit," announced Lord Shiva. In a flash, energetic Kartikeya hopped onto his swift peacock and zoomed off into the blue sky! He swooped over oceans and mountains like a colorful lightning bolt, eager to finish the big race.

Little Ganesha looked down at his loyal friend, Mooshika the little mouse. He knew his tiny friend could not outrun a flying peacock around the big wide earth. But Ganesha did not worry at all. He closed his large eyes, thought with his big clever head, and smiled a warm, loving smile.

Ganesha gently walked up to his mother Parvati and father Shiva. With folded hands and deep devotion, he slowly walked around them three times. "To me, my loving parents are my whole universe," Ganesha said sweetly. "By circling you, I have traveled around my entire world!"

Shiva and Parvati were moved by Ganesha’s clever mind and deep love. They joyfully handed him the magical mango of wisdom. When Kartikeya returned, he hugged his brother proudly, amazed by Ganesha’s great heart. Together, the happy brothers shared the delicious, sweet treat under the bright mountain sun.
