Once upon a time, there was a king named Bali who loved to give gifts to everyone he met. King Bali felt very proud that no one ever left his palace without a present. One sunny morning, a sweet little boy named Vamana walked into the palace. Vamana carried a small wooden umbrella and wore a peaceful smile.

King Bali welcomed little Vamana with open arms and said, 'Little one, ask for anything you wish! Jewels, land, or a whole city!' Vamana shook his head gently and smiled. 'I do not need shiny treasures,' Vamana replied softly. 'I only ask for as much land as I can cover in three small steps.'

King Bali laughed cheerfully, thinking it was such a tiny gift. 'I grant you your three steps!' promised the king. But as soon as the words were spoken, Vamana began to grow! He grew bigger than the trees, taller than the mountains, and higher than the fluffy white clouds.

With his very first big step, giant Vamana covered all of the green earth! With his second giant step, he covered the whole blue sky and the starry space beyond. Vamana looked down kindly and asked, 'Where shall I put my third step?'

King Bali bowed his head with great love and humility, realizing how special Vamana truly was. 'Please place your third step upon my head,' Bali said softly. Vamana gently touched the king's head with his foot, blessing him for his truthfulness and big heart. Everyone cheered for the kind king who learned that love and humility are the greatest treasures of all.

True strength is shown not by how much we own, but by being humble and generous at heart.
